Mr Lindsay has received a four-month prison sentence after coughing at two police officers. The man who appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court has pled guilty to endangering police officers by the assault. The 48-year-old man is understood to be the first sentenced since the Covid 19 outbreak for such an offence. Both officers tested negative for the virus. It was heard in the Court that Mr Lindsay was drunk at the police station where the assault took place but admitted this was not excuse for the “unacceptable behaviour”.
