Mr Cameron plead guilty to causing death by dangerous driving after driving at 125mph on a road near Inverness. As a result, his friend, who was a passenger in the car died after a high speed crash caused by the accused in May 2018. It was heard by the court that Mr Cameron had been previously banned from driving in 2016 as a result of a previous driving offence.
Mr Cameron re-sat his test just two months before the fatal crash. Mr Cameron’s defence team stated that he had expressed the “deepest regret and sorrow” for what happened. Mr Cameron was remanded in custody and sentencing was deferred for background reports until the end of October in Edinburgh High Court.
