At least 40 motorists have had their drug-driving convictions quashed after evidence emerged of manipulation in the forensic testing process in Manchester but this could go far beyond this scope.
These convictions have been overturned after some lost their licence as a result. Over 10,000 results are now under review after a testing centre allegedly manipulated the data. The solicitors representing those who have been convicted are also seeking compensation. The one firm in question has been suspended by Police and there are enquires of charging  authorised people with perverting the course of justice. The National Police Chiefs’ Council said it was the “most serious breach” of forensic science standards.
